I had such a good time with the Pelikan fountain pen yesterday that I found myself picking it up again this morning. It needed refilling so you'll see the bottle of Edelstein Apatite ink in the thumbnail.

Here's the offending and rather beautiful notebook cover with the bulky rivet and thick elastic. I'll try again with it today, but the way that the rivet causes the hardcover to seesaw makes it annoying and I don't think I can put up with it. Will the Roterfaden Taschenbegleiter have the same issue? It's an expensive thing to trial. I'll see what their returns policy is and obviously not spend extra on engraving!
