I'm a bit lost in the past again, but I have a feeling that it's a therapeutic exercise for reasons which I mention in my pages.
You'll read in my pages about how I just learned that Stefan Pugh died in 2013. He was the head of the Russian department at the University of St Andrews during my time there and we spent a lot of time together. He was my tutor for linguistics, Ukrainian and Old Church Slavonic. Some of those Ukrainian classes in the Castle pub were legendary! Besides his linguistic academic prowess, he was a very warm and kind man. His door was always open, whether to discuss academic crises or personal ones. It came as quite a shock to me to learn of his death, albeit 12 years after the fact. Вечная память, Stefan.
