It's new pen day, a Graf von Faber-Castell Fuller Bentley broad. Cult Pens was doing a fantastic deal on it, and the Post Office GLO compensation scheme has made a settlement offer, so I celebrated, possibly prematurely, with a new fountain pen. Yay.
This is when I graduated as a Russian linguist in the Royal Corps of Signals. I would’ve graduated in 1990, but my accident set me back a year. I was 19 here, but started at Harrogate when I was 16. I’m thinking of my life then because that’s the age Hamish is now, as he embarks on his new journey.
