Sometimes humanity surprises me—it's the force that binds us all.
This session got a bit existential.
My 'Hobbsian' worldview isn't that of Thomas Hobbes, but of Robin Hobb, the fantasy author. Maybe I should call it Hobbian, lest there be any confusion, haha. My worldview started forming after I read her first book in the Farseer Trilogy, or maybe not forming, but it became something I could think about more clearly after reading those novels. Stephen Donaldson's Thomas Covenant chronicles have also quite clearly fed into my worldview in a deep way. It's actually quite fascinating.
