First of all, thank you to all the new people who have subscribed in the last couple of weeks. I'm guessing you're coming in my other Substack where I run book groups. I'm so pleased to have you join this one too.

I've been on holiday with the family, hence the publishing gap. We had an amazing time in Cornwall visiting my wife's family and took a rather long detour home to spend a day in Brighton. I did write my pages on two days, so I'll put them in a gallery first for the completists among you. I would ideally have written every day, but, well, you know, holidays.
